Boat Rental FAQs
What types of boats does Lake Nipissing Outfitters rent?
We rent canoes, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, and 16-foot fishing boats. Each option is available for fully self-guided use or as part of a guided option, depending on how you want to spend your time.
How much do boat rentals cost?
Daily and weekly rates: 2-person canoe is $50/day or $250/week, single kayak is $40/day or $200/week, stand-up paddleboard is $40/day or $200/week, and the 16-foot fishing boat (20hp, seats 4) is $200/day or $1000/week. Paddles and the basic safety kit are included on paddle craft. Lifejackets are an additional $6 per day. See the full rental pricing page for everything else we rent.
Can I rent a boat without a guide?
Yes. All rentals are available for fully self-guided use. Not sure where to go? Our self-guided tour routes point you toward some of the best local spots so you can make the most of your day.
Do I need experience to rent a canoe, kayak, or paddleboard?
No. Lake Nipissing has plenty of quiet back bays and sheltered shoreline that work well for first-time paddlers. If you want more support, ask about a guided paddle tour where an experienced local plans the route, handles safety, and picks the right water for your group.

Is safety equipment included with a boat rental?
Yes. Lifejackets and required safety gear are included with every rental. Renters are expected to operate equipment safely and within their skill level. Lake Nipissing Outfitters reserves the right to refuse service or terminate a rental if unsafe use is observed.
