Manitou Islands & Sand Beaches

Upper French River & Historic Lodge
For a longer journey, travel west across Lake Nipissing and into the French River, where the landscape opens into the winding channels and rugged beauty of the Upper French River system. As part of this experience, you also have the option to stop for lunch or dinner at a historic fishing lodge along the river, adding a unique and memorable element to your day on the water.

Where do Lake Nipissing Outfitters scenic boat tours go?
Our scenic boat tours cover three main routes: the South River to the waterfalls at Chapman's Chute, the Manitou Islands with their natural shorelines and sandy beaches, and the Upper French River with its winding channels and optional historic fishing lodge stop for lunch or dinner.
Is the boat wheelchair accessible?
Yes. Lake Nipissing Outfitters operates a wheelchair-accessible boat so more people can enjoy scenic tours safely and comfortably. Let us know at the time of booking and we will make sure the trip is set up for your needs.
How many people can come on a scenic boat tour?
The base price includes 4 adults. Our boat is commercially registered to carry up to 9 passengers total, so larger groups are welcome. Call (705) 791-3573 for pricing on additional guests.
Can I swim during a scenic boat tour?
Yes. On select trips, particularly the Manitou Islands route, there are optional stops at a natural sand beach where you can swim. Let your captain know what you are hoping for and we will build it into the route if conditions allow.
Is a meal stop included on the French River tour?
On the Upper French River route, you have the option to stop for lunch or dinner at a historic fishing lodge along the river. It is a memorable add-on, booked separately with the lodge. Ask at the time of booking and we will coordinate.
How long are the scenic boat tours?
Tours typically run 2.5 to 4.5 hours depending on the route and conditions. The French River route is the longest and works well as a full half-day or longer. The South River and Manitou Islands routes are shorter and flexible. Call (705) 791-3573 to plan the duration that fits your group.
